Crowns & Veneers
For cosmetic reasons, or restorative dentistry, crowns and veneers and long lasting, strong and they look like natural teeth. Our crowns and veneers are created with Emax, a porcelain material that wears like a natural tooth does. You can have crowns and veneers placed on one tooth, or multiple teeth. Crowns cover the entire original tooth, and require the original tooth to be “shaved” down for the crown to fit over it. Veneers are usually placed over only a few surfaces of the tooth. Both will protect and enhance your smile for years to come.
Dental Laser
Dental lasers are a fantastic technology that can improve many issues that people have with their mouths and teeth. The soft tissue laser can help with desensitizing teeth that are sensitive to cold and hot, often with one treatment. If you suffer from canker sores, the soft tissue laser can treat canker sores by reducing their size and duration. The dental laser can help during cleanings by reducing bacteria and is also used to reduce soft tissue around the teeth when it is uncomfortable.
Tooth Whitening
Tooth whitening is a popular service and can yield great results in a short amount of time. Here at our Rexburg office, we offer tooth whitening services as an in office procedure or as a take home service. The take home service provides you with custom molded trays and a liquid whitener. Simply add the liquid to the trays, wear them for a brief time, rinse and repeat again the next evening! If you want faster results, our in-office treatment takes only an hour and a half in our office and you will see an immediate difference in the brightness of your teeth!
Dental Restoration & Implants
Dental implants are a natural looking way to replace one or more missing teeth in your smile. A titanium post or “root replacement” is implanted into the jawbone where the root of the missing tooth used to be. A bone graft may or may not have to take place beforehand. After the post is placed and healed, the single crown (or even a bridge) is attached to the post, and the new tooth (or teeth) look and perform just like natural teeth. Implants are also used to hold dentures in place more effectively that adhesives.
Family & Pediatric
Our Rexburg office provides both family and pediatric dental services. This is convenient for all of our patients, as dental records for families are all in one place, and relationships between our staff and our patients can help to foster regular and effective dental care. We recommend that pediatric dental care start no later than 3 years of age, to promote lifelong healthy dental habits. Family dental care continues throughout the life of the patient! We look forward to seeing you for years to come!
Dentures & Partials
Dentures and partials have vastly improved over time. Dentures replace all of the teeth for the upper or lower (or both) jaws. Partials refer to a denture-like structure that “fills in” spaces where one or more teeth are missing. They are anchored to existing teeth. Modern dentures and partials look and perform like natural teeth, especially when held in with implants. If you feel like dentures or partials would be a good fit for you, we provide denture and partial services here at our Idaho Falls location.
Temporal Mandibular Disorder
Temporal mandibular disorder, commonly known as TMD is a condition that arises from stress on the jaw joint(s) due to malocclusion (bad bite), a slipped soft tissue disc located in the joint, jaw clenching while sleeping or during times of stress. Pain and popping noises, even the jaw getting stuck in an open position can result from these symptoms. TMD can cause pain and also deterioration of teeth. Treatment of TMD can include a night guard (splint) to relieve pressure on the jaw joint.
Emergency Hours
You don’t schedule toothaches. They can come on at any time, often when most dental offices are closed. Our Rexburg office has emergency dental services for exactly these times. We offer daily hours from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. so that our patients can see us before and well after school and work hours. But if you are experiencing pain after our normal hours, you can call our emergency hours number and within 30 minutes or less we can get you an emergency appointment until 10 p.m.
Root Canal Therapy
Of all dental services we offer, our Rexburg root canal therapy services are the ones people don’t want to have to receive. Just the term “root canal” elicits strong emotions. They are necessary in some cases, however. Our team of caring professionals will help to relieve stress over this service. If your particular root canal situation needs extra care, we will refer you to an endodontist outside of our office. A root canal can leave your tooth prone to fracturing, so we can also create a natural looking crown after the root canal.
Extractions & Surgery
Tooth extractions are a very common procedure in dental offices. For varying reasons, people sometimes need to have one or more teeth extracted or “pulled”. Sometimes the tooth is too damaged to be restored, sometimes teeth must be removed to create space in the mouth, sometimes teeth (like wisdom teeth) become impacted and need to be removed. Most tooth extractions are fairly easy and heal well. Sometimes a tooth may be impacted or have other issues and needs to be surgically removed. We can perform these dental surgeries but if your particular case needs extra attention, we can refer you to a trusted oral surgeon.
White Fillings
A white filling is a tooth restoration material made from a tooth colored plastic and glass mixture. This is also called a composite filling. These fillings are matched to the approximate color of your other teeth so that the tooth looks completely natural even with the filling in place. These fillings are strong and long lasting. Some people are concerned about metals in “silver” fillings. There is no reason for health concerns with the composite “white” fillings. They are safe and durable.
X-Rays
X-rays are an accurate way for your dentist to be able to see “hidden” or out of sight decay that may not be readily visible at first glance, such as between teeth or at the gumline. They are also used to check the progress of root canals and to get a view of teeth that have not erupted to the surface yet. Dental x-rays at our Rexburg office can be intraoral (taken inside of the mouth), digital panoramic (which takes an x-ray image of both jaws and all teeth), and 3D digital x-rays, (which are like panorama x-rays, but include the extra areas like the jawbones and surrounding tissue). Your dental care team will recommend the type of x-rays that will be best for the services you are receiving.
